Understand LED screens, projectors, TV displays, presentation playback, live feeds and multi-camera production for events.
Choosing an Event Display
The appropriate display depends on audience size, viewing distance, room brightness, content type, venue layout and budget. LED screens, projectors and television displays solve different presentation needs.
LED Screen Guide
LED screens are suitable when a bright, scalable display is required for presentations, branding, video, live camera feeds or stage visuals. Screen structure, processor, power, playback and installation access form part of the system.
LED Screen Size
Screen size should be planned around viewing distance, content readability, stage proportion and venue width. A larger audience does not automatically require the largest screen; placement and content design also matter.
Viewing Distance
Guests should be able to read important text and see programme content comfortably from their seating area. Long rooms may require a larger main screen or additional displays.
LED vs Projector
LED is generally stronger in brighter environments and offers flexible screen sizes. Projectors can be effective in controlled indoor lighting where suitable throw distance and projection surfaces are available.
Projector Guide
Projector planning considers brightness, screen size, room lighting, throw distance and mounting position. Bright rooms or locations with limited projection distance may be better suited to LED.
TV & Display Guide
Television displays work well for smaller meetings, registration counters, breakout rooms, information displays and secondary viewing positions.
Presentation Playback
Confirm the presentation source, aspect ratio and playback method before the programme. Videos, unusual fonts, embedded media and internet-dependent content should be tested in advance.
Content Ratio & Resolution
Prepare content according to the confirmed display dimensions and playback specification. Correct aspect ratio and resolution reduce unwanted cropping, stretching or unused screen areas.
Live Feed
A live feed displays presenters, performances or programme activity on LED screens, projectors or TVs. It is useful when audiences cannot clearly see the stage from all positions.
Multi-Camera Production
Multi-camera production uses several camera positions and video switching to provide different programme views. Camera placement, operator access, sightlines and coordination should be planned before the event.
Client-Supplied Laptop or Media
When clients provide their own laptop or media source, allow time for connection and testing. Display adapters, output settings, protected content and last-minute file changes can affect playback.
